Position: Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students with a variety of special educational needs, including those displaying challenging behaviours.
  • Assist in the facilitation of engaging classroom activities while maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Offer personal care support, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene assistance, as required.
  • Implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with classroom teachers.
  • Foster an encouraging environment that enhances student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive education and care.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Capacity to manage and respond constructively to challenging behaviours.
  • Willingness to provide personal care as needed.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and off-site activities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A compassionate demeanour, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with SEN.
