Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills and resilience to support students with behavioural and emotional challenges? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team.

About Us
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students who face barriers to mainstream education can rediscover their love for learning and achieve their potential. We specialize in working with students who have social, emotional, and behavioural needs, and we’re driven by a belief in second chances and tailored support.

The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our students to overcome their challenges and thrive both academically and personally. You’ll work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create positive learning experiences that enable students to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies, self-esteem, and emotional resilience.
  • Assist in delivering tailored interventions and academic support plans.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting open communication and trust.
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy.
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving and de-escalation techniques.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and build strong, supportive relationships.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to upholding these standards.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

Why Join Us?

  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training in behaviour management and mental health support.
  • The chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people.
  • Competitive salary in line with qualifications and experience.
