About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a friendly and motivated Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school at the heart of the local community. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering the KS1 Year 2 National Curriculum across all subject areas. The successful Teaching Assistant will be working within a highly supportive KS1 team.
The role is a full-time position from Monday to Friday each week. The hours will be 8.30am-3.30pm each day.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Planning and Delivery: Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.
Support Pupils: Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups, ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
Assessment and Feedback: Assist in assessing pupils' work and providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
Extra-Curricular Activities: Participate in and sometimes lead extra-curricular activities and school events.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to continually improve your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Experience working in a primary school or young people setting.
Strong understanding of the KS1 national curriculum.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Additional qualifications or training relevant to primary education.
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
