Primary School Teaching Assistant

Location: Doncaster
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, afternoon only (12.15pm-3.15pm)
Start Date: As soon as possible on long term basis
Pay Rate: circa £15/16 per hour

About the Role:

Join a dynamic team at a primary school Doncaster as a Teaching Assistant, where you'll primarily be predominantly working one-to-one with a child in Year 1. This long-term role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the child's educational journey, providing tailored support and fostering an environment conducive to their growth and development. Starting off as a long term temporary role, the school would ideally like to make the role permanent, following the first 12 weeks. However, if you're not seeking a permanent role, please do still apply as the school is keen to consider options for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver personalised support to a child in Year 1 with SEN.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to implement and adapt learning materials.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children with SEN is highly advantageous.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting diverse learning needs.
  • Effective communication skills, both with the child and the wider school community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
