Teaching Assistant - Full-Time/Part-Time (January 2025)
About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is partnering with Primary Schools in Alnwick who are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to support pupils across school years on a full-time or part-time basis from January 2025.
Successful candidates will support the pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, working closely with the class teacher to promote positive learning outcomes. You will need to be a resilient, compassionate practitioner with excellent relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
� Provide 1:1 support to a pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
� Manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
� Build and maintain strong relationships with class teachers to support the pupils development
� Prepare learning materials and resources for lessons
� Supervise pupils during break times and lunch times
� Interact and engage with pupils to encourage learning and build rapport
� Liaise with parents and external agencies to discuss pupil progress
What We Are Looking For:
� Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service, or we can process a new one for you)
� Childcare-based qualification (preferred but not essential)
� Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
� Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
� Previous experience supporting pupils in a school setting
� Experience with 1:1 support is a plus
� High levels of enthusiasm and energy when working with children
� A genuine passion for helping young people fulfil their potential
