The Support Associate plays a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being during activities.

  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to share observations and progress updates.
  • Support children during daily routines, including meal times, transitions, and recreational activities.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that respects diversity and encourages participation from all children.


Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, particularly in a supportive or educational capacity.
  • Knowledge of toddler care practices is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children of varying abilities.
  • Experience or training in working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
  • A background in special education or related fields is beneficial but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to educate and support children's development are crucial attributes for this role.
