About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping students achieve their full potential. You will work closely with children of various ages and abilities, assisting with classroom management, delivering tailored learning activities, and providing individual support where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Support the individual learning needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
- Help students with their academic and social development, providing one-on-one or group assistance.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment in the classroom.
- Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
- Support students with their behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes
- Ensure the wellbeing and safeguarding of students at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school setting is desirable, but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with children of varying needs.
- A good understanding of child development and educational practices.
- A willingness to undergo relevant training (e.g. first aid, safeguarding, or SEN training).
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Training in Special Educational Needs or experience working with SEN students.
- A full, clean driving license (for travel between schools, if required).
