Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching assistant to support 2 pupils on a split timetable across Year 2 and Year 5, additionally to this, the ideal candidate would be supporting the class teacher and delivering small group support, when not supporting the 2 pupils. The role is set to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:


  • Support two pupils on a split timetable in Year 2 and Year 5.
  • Assist the Class Teacher with lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Work within the framework of the National Curriculum, focusing on Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Use your skills to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Provide targeted interventions to support individual learning goals.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and parents to track pupil progress.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher).
  • Previous experience working in a UK Primary School setting.
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum, including KS1 and KS2.
  • The ability to support pupils with additional needs in a patient and proactive manner.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
