Job Title: Teaching Assistant- Specialist School
Location: Tonkers Green, Berkshire
Salary: £11.72ph - £12.53ph (actual annual salary = £20,941 - £22,388 per year) Dependant on experience and qualifications
Hours: Full time permanent position - Monday to Friday, Term time only.

We are currently looking to recruit teaching Assistants (TAs) to join our expanding team and work alongside the Education Team to aid the smooth running of the school.

Therole:

Based in Berkshire the school will be supporting students aged 6 -16 with a diagnosis of Autism spectrum disorder, moderate to Severe Learning needs and associated difficulties, who require an individualised, specialist approach.

Key Duties:

To support teachers in all areas of the day to day running of the class seeking guidance and advice when required
Working alongside a class team to deliver purposeful and meaningful educational experiences for children and young people with a diagnosis of Autism spectrum and severe/moderate learning difficulties.
Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students according to the schools policies, including safeguarding.

Experience /Qualifications:

A good standard of standard of English, Maths and communication

Knowledge and Experience:

Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN relevant to Provision
Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviour that challenges.
Experience working within education is advantageous
Experience of working within a multi-cultural, inclusive setting

Skills:

Commitment to the role, the desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual
Be positive and creative in meeting students needs
Work on your own as well as part of a team
Work collaboratively with other staff and professionals with good interpersonal skills
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Competent ICT skills
Be flexible, adaptable and solution focused.
Able to work within the parameters of the physical demands of the job role
