SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1 Autism and Personal Care Support

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with Autism, helping him manage personal care needs and behavioural challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers to create and implement individualised support strategies.
• Use patience and creativity to engage the pupil in activities and encourage learning.
• Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour through structured and consistent support.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

What We're Looking For in a Teaching Assistant:

• Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN pupils.
• Strong knowledge of Autism and behaviour management strategies.
• Confidence in handling challenging behaviours and using initiative in dynamic situations.
• A caring, patient, and resilient attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
