Career Teachers is excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Barnsley.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored support to two Year 4 pupils with ADHD.
• Assist the children in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual targets.
• Implement strategies to support emotional and academic development.
• Foster a positive and nurturing environment to promote confidence and independence.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent progress.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly on a 1:1 basis.
• Patience, empathy, and be skilled at building rapport with children.
• Confidence in implementing personalised learning plans.
• Qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential).
• Good skills as a team player who is adaptable and proactive in their approach.
