Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Supply Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary schools in Derby City. As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting classroom teachers, ensuring the smooth running of lessons, and assisting with the academic and emotional development of children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
• Assist in the management of classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
• Work with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support.
• Help prepare learning materials and resources.
• Offer pastoral care to children, supporting their academic and social development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting (either as a teaching assistant or in a similar role).
• A passion for supporting young learners and a commitment to helping children reach their full potential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both staff and pupils.
• Flexibility and adaptability, with a proactive approach to assisting in the classroom.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is an advantage, but not essential.
