Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour?
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision that provides education and support for pupils who may have struggled in mainstream settings. The provision offers small class sizes, a nurturing environment, and tailored learning approaches to help children overcome barriers and succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils in lessons to engage with their learning in a structured, alternative provision setting.
* Assist with behaviour management, using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
* Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
* Work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to provide targeted learning support.
* Provide supervision during break and lunch times to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
* Support children with SEMH needs by helping them regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours.
* Occasionally deliver lessons or support home learning where needed.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour, ideally in an alternative provision or similar setting.
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being.
* Willingness to travel between sites if required.
* Access to transport with business insurance for home visits when necessary.
