Position: Team Manager - Leaving Care
Location: Calderdale Council
Hourly Rate: �45.00
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time

Overview:

Calderdale Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Manager to lead our Leaving Care team. This vital role focuses on managing a dedicated team that supports young people transitioning from care to independence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping services to meet the needs of young people, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive in adulthood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Leaving Care team, providing supervision, guidance, and support to staff members.
  • Oversee the delivery of services that support care leavers in achieving their personal and professional goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the independence of young people leaving care.
  • Ensure that all interventions and support plans are carried out in compliance with legal frameworks and best practice guidelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with external agencies, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and opportunities for care leavers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions, making adjustments to meet the evolving needs of care leavers.
  • Manage the team budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide expert advice and support on care leaver issues to other teams within the council.
  • Maintain high standards of professional practice within the team by facilitating ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration.
  • Significant experience in children's social care, with a strong background in managing leaving care services.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal and policy framework surrounding leaving care.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for young people leaving care.
