Job Overview: This is an exciting permanent opportunity for Senior/Advanced Practitioners looking to step into a managerial role or experienced Team Managers seeking a new challenge. The role involves leading a team of social workers to deliver high-quality services, ensuring compliance with statutory duties, and working within the strategic framework to support vulnerable children and young people across Gloucestershire. As a Team Manager, you will oversee case management, provide supervision, and contribute to the continuous development of service delivery within the team.
Key Responsibilities:\n- Lead and manage a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
\n- Develop a team plan aligned with Children’s Services strategic objectives.
\n- Provide management oversight of all cases with a clear understanding of risks and ensuring statutory duties are met.
\n- Ensure compliance with Children’s Services policies, procedures, and best practices.
\n- Quality assure team members’ work through observations, reflective supervision, and adherence to GCC’s quality assurance framework.
\n- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal colleagues and external partner agencies.
\n- Support and protect vulnerable children and young people across the County.
\n
Required Qualifications:\n- Social Work England registration.
\n- Experience at Senior/Advanced Practitioner level.
\n- A recognised qualification in Social Work.
\n- Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
\n- A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
\n- Enhanced DBS clearance.
\n
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience as a Team Manager within a statutory children’s social work setting.
Skills and Competencies:\n- Strong leadership and team management skills.
\n- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
\n- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n- Strong understanding of child protection procedures and statutory requirements.
\n- Ability to effectively manage and resolve complex cases.

Work Environment:\n- Hybrid working model (2-3 days in the office per week).

Benefits:\n- Salary: £50,788 - £52,805 per annum, depending on experience.
\n- Annual retention payment of £2,000.
\n- Welcome payment of £5,000.
\n- 25.5 days annual leave, rising to 30.5 days after 5 years of continuous service.
\n- Relocation allowance of up to £8,000 (terms and conditions apply).
