Job DescriptionTechnical Account Manager – Solar Energy Software, Colchester UK (Hybrid WFH) c. £45,000 - £50,000 P.A + bonuses D.O.E This is an exciting client facing role in a fast-growing solar energy software firm who help asset owners maximise the performance of their solar farms in the UK, Continental Europe and USA.The role is suitable for a bright, enthusiastic engineer with excellent communication skills who enjoys customer interaction, implementation of systems, client training, resolving issues and achieving great results for customers.The company is a privately owned SME and has a very friendly entrepreneurial feel and flat structure, this is a key role working with colleagues across engineering, R&D, sales and senior leadership so it’s a great platform to grow your skills and career.About you:A background in technical asset management, solar PV operations & maintenance or solar system design, solar system commissioning or software support to renewable energy projects are all very interesting backgrounds as full product training will be provided to ensure your success in role.You can be based anywhere in the UK, but the more frequently you are able to visit and work with colleagues in Colchester, Essex the better.The role will work very closely with the sales and account management team working with a portfolio of key clients in Northern Europe and wider EMEA. You will take customers from post-sale through to operation, managing the training and onboarding of their critical accounts onto the platform and helping solve any queries.It’s very likely you have a technical or engineering background and you’re very comfortable working with data and able to confidently discuss solar farm performance data with influential investors and owner/operators of assets. Key Requirements:Excellent communicator in front of customers and partner organisationsStrong knowledge of the utility scale solar PV industry.Experience in solar industry in a technical asset management, O&M, installation, engineering or product support type or account management / sales role is likely.Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.Technical affinity – Ability to understand, analyse and manipulate data – an engineering or computer science degree or equivalent would be beneficial.Spoken and written proficiency in English Languages like German, Dutch, French, Polish would be beneficial. Skills at manipulating large data sets using Excel, Python (or other numerical programming languages like MATLAB) would be beneficial.Ability to travel to visit clients in the UK and overseas.Right to work in the UK - sorry we are unable to sponsor application for VISACompensation This is a critical role, so there is some flexibility to secure the right person.A competitive basic salary will be offered based on experience, likely in the range £45-£50K but variable depending on capability and experience.
