Job Description - Technical Architect (78001518D20230517) Job Description Technical Architect ( Job Number: 78001518D20230517 ) DISCOVER your opportunity Technical Architect London, UK The team works within Digital Factory Insurance & Ceded Reinsurance Solutions to design, deliver and support software solutions that support the business units. The Technical Architect will understand and drive the strategy for cloud, the needs and challenges of product owners, projects and operations teams that s/he supports and deliver to those accordingly. The team are responsible for a number of applications both internally developed and third party products with a heavy focus on the internally developed .Net applications. There is a substantial pipeline of work, including market-wide initiatives, security-focused transformation and major cloud migrations. The Technical Architect role is the lead technologist for a product or platform. We often buy in third party products with high out of box implementation which most likely will have their own technical architecture roles, so as the in-house Technical Architect you will be responsible to managing the internal assets and supporting our approach to third party products. As a Technical Architect you will perform deliverable reviews and be responsible for measuring deliverable quality within the Delivery Team. DISCOVERyour opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include? Key contributor to Cloud strategy and design, contributing to CTO discussions and standards Producing quality, secure, scalable, high-performing and resilient designs for new or improved services Specification of technologies, application architectures and data structures as a basis for application for internal assets Producing quality, secure, scalable, high-performing and resilient designs for new or improved services Adhering to security, promoting security in design, ensuring all assets are secure Lead the Systems Analysts, Developers and Testers in sympathetic change to the applications Hands-on delivery of complex and critical software solutions Monitor change and perform reviews as needed For internal assets, support Application Managers to develop and maintain the Product Roadmap Define and maintain development standards such as system and data design, coding etc. Maintain a capacity plan with historical performance metrics, a future forecast, and a capacity model to ensure services and infrastructure deliver performance and growth targets in a cost effective and proactive manner Manage architecture exceptions for the application, including identifying, documenting, taking through exception approval process, and remediation where and when possible Monitor application services to ensure performance consistently meets non-functional requirements (response time, security etc.) Work with the Application Manager in defining, analysing, planning, measuring and improving product availability and continuity Leads the DevOps team and Developers in targeted use of DevOps for their application platform assets You will report to the Delivery Lead. We re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Extensive experience of the Cloud and cloud-based solutions ideally using Microsoft Azure and N-tier architecture. Experience in DevOps tools (ADO, Harness, GitHub) Knowledge of virtualisation (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) Knowledge of solid software design principles and clean code principles. Experience with Asynchronous data handling and event-based architectures Experience in designing and writing API endpoints Experience working with ETL Commercial experience with automation technologies include Robotic Process Automation and Natural Language Processing. Knowledge and design experience of secure system architecture (oAuth2.0, AAD) Practical experience of a Scaled Agile delivery methodology. Proven experience of identifying and designing changes to system architecture, including reviewing the technical integrity of internal assets Able to develop, own, and publish the product technical architecture and design documentation Proven ability to translate the high-level designs into the technical specifications to facilitate efficient and effective development and unit testing Prior work experience in an insurance or technology field preferred Experience of leading Analysts and Developers in sympathetic technical change to the product Proficiency with multiple application delivery models including Agile, iterative and waterfall Advanced skills in developing tools, frameworks and processes intended to maximise software quality and minimize time-to-delivery FIND your future AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks.
