Seeking an experienced Technical Author to produce and update essential technical documentation across various systems and formats for both technical and non-technical audiences. This is a critical role within a forward-thinking organisation that powers secure communications, industrial computing, imaging technology, and more. As a Technical Author, you will support engineering and operational teams by developing precise, user-friendly documentation to ensure products operate safely and reliably in challenging environments.

Location: Tewkesbury
Employment Type: Full-Time Monday-Friday
Hours: 38 Hours per week
Salary: £40,000
Holiday entitlement: 26 days + Bank holidays- Increasing with length of service.

Key Responsibilities Interpret complex technical information from various sources to create clear, accurate documentation.
Develop and maintain technical publications, including theory of operations, troubleshooting guides, schematic diagrams, and installation procedures.
Collaborate with engineering teams to produce illustrative materials and ensure quality and consistency.
Conduct reviews, validate technical publications, and ensure compliance with industry standards and military specifications.
Support technical publication development across maintenance, retrofit, and repair requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
You have an ability to understand and interpret technical products to both a technical and non-technical audience
Proven technical writing expertise with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to simplify complex concepts.
Proficiency in technical authoring tools and software.
Experience in regulated environments, ideally within military or industrial sectors.
Strong collaboration skills and an eagerness to work inclusively across teams to drive quality and precision.
Preferred Skills (Not Required) Background in Engineering, ideally an HND or above in Electronic Engineering.
Familiarity with technical formats like Data Modules, Component Maintenance Manuals, and Interactive Electronic Technical Publications.
Experience of working with recognised industry standard technical publishing software.
