Technical & Design Manager

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Technical and Design Manager to oversee the structured design process. This role requires balancing customer needs with efficient manufacturing practices to ensure high quality and cost-effectiveness. You will drive new product development, collaborate with technical sales, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a crucial role in operational enhancements. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will influence strategic business decisions and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all design activities, ensuring thorough and well-documented drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and compliance with industry standards.


• Manage a small team of Design Engineers, driving productivity and KPIs.


• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to enhance manufacturing processes and improve product quality.


• Manage Type Approval (Conformity of Production) requirements and serve as the primary liaison with vehicle manufacturers' technical and homologation teams.


• Drive proactive product development initiatives, working closely with technical sales, operations, and customers.


• Oversee engineering change control processes and contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction and quality enhancement.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Management or Leadership role


• Engineer background, with strong understanding of Design & Technical Engineering


• Degree qualified preferred, or equivalent experience


• Excellent communication and people skills

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 4.5 days - full time - flexible
