We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Director to lead our technical operations and join our dynamic team.Job DescriptionAs the Technical Director, you will oversee the technical aspects of our BESS projects, guiding the engineering team, ensuring successful project execution, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise will drive innovation and efficiency within our technical operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Lead and manage the project management function, ensuring seamless project delivery.Technical Leadership: Guide the technical team in the design, installation, and commissioning of BESS, Gas Peaker, and other technology projects.Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including project management, sales, and operations.Technical Expertise: Guide the selection and integration of BESS and other net zero technologies.Documentation: Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation, such as design specifications, installation manuals, and safety protocols.Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes.Quality Assurance: Conduct technical reviews and audits to ensure top-quality workmanship and compliance.Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Technical Proficiency: Detailed understanding of site-level EC&I, Modbus TCP communications, edge devices, cyber security, and remote access solutions.Contract Management: Experience in authoring and administering construction contracts (FIDIC, MF1, NEC 3).Financial Management: Oversee project cost tracking and financial budgeting.Drawing Management: Create and manage all "For Construction Drawings GA".QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Professional Status: Chartered status with IET or equivalent.Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the energy sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing BESS projects.Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of BESS technologies, including lithium-ion batteries, thermal management systems, and power electronics.Project Management: Proven track record in managing and delivering complex technical projects.Standards and Safety: Strong understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices for BESS installation and operation.Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Innovation: Ability to think strategically and drive innovation within the technical team.License: Valid UK Driver's Licence.BenefitsHybrid role, 2 days a week working from home Competitive salary 25 days' annual leave entitlement and the opportunity to purchase or roll over 5 days: (excluding bank holidays).
