Technical Director

Morson Talent are seeking a Technical Director in Flood & Water Management, for an exciting flexible working opportunity in the UK. As Technical Director, you will be Reporting into the Regional Director of the consultancy Morson Talent are partnered with. This organisation operates across the UK with multiple offices, with this opportunity you will have the opportunity to be based out of either Manchester or London.Role Overview: As a Senior Engineering Leader specialising in Flood and Water Management, you will play a pivotal role in our client's growth trajectory. You will provide strategic direction, leadership, and governance to ensure the successful implementation of business plans and strategies. You will foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and oversee the delivery of projects to meet growth objectives.Key Responsibilities: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key clients, negotiating agreements and fostering collaborative working relationships.Lead the development and execution of business plans to secure new opportunities in both public and private sectors.Mentor and guide teams of engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects, providing necessary resources and training.Manage project portfolios, overseeing budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.Contribute to bid submissions for new projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Monitor team performance and provide leadership to maintain quality standards and technical excellence.Drive recruitment efforts and support cross-regional resource management. Qualifications and Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification.Extensive experience in senior management roles, managing large teams and budgets.Chartered with relevant professional bodies such as ICE or CIWEM.Proficiency in project management methodologies, with NEC accreditation preferred.Demonstrated expertise in flood and water management design and implementation.Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and planning policies.Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.Proven track record in project management and financial oversight.
