The Interim Technical Directors Objective... The Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations, strategy, and infrastructure of the MSP and the wider businesses, taking the lead role in driving the growth of the MSP business. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the latest technologies, excellent management skills, and the ability to align technical initiatives with business objectives. The Technical Director will lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and solutions to our clients and will also be a key member of the Senior Management Team.
The Key Responsibilities...Technical Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement the technical vision and strategy in alignment with the company’s business objectives Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the MSP remains competitive Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in service delivery Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the technical team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of technical staff Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members Pre Sales delivery Contribute content to the marketing channel (digital marketing, content marketing, webinars, networking events, and referrals) to help generate leads Take lead role on discovery calls/meetings and refining requirement gathering Experienced in solutions design and converting requirements to tailored proposals aligned to customer requirements Service Delivery and Operations: Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of IT services to clients, meeting or exceeding SLAs Oversee the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and applications Implement and enforce best practices for IT security, data protection, and disaster recovery
Client Engagement and Support: Act as a technical advisor to clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions Foster strong relationships with key clients, addressing any technical concerns and ensuring high levels of satisfaction Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to support client acquisition and retention efforts Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage project resources and risks Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring optimal service delivery Evaluate and select new vendors and partners as needed to support the company’s technical needs Your experience... Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT leadership roles, preferably within an MSP environment Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed services Proven experience in developing and implementing technical strategies and solutions Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery Certifications such as Microsoft Cloud Certifications, ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.
