Technical Lead - Footwear TestingKetteringSalary - up to £38,000 plus benefitsOur client is recruiting a Technical Lead to lead and supervise a team of technologists and technicians in the Footwear Testing team ensuring compliance with quality standards, enhancing the company's brand and reputation.
About The Role
\n- As a Technical Lead your key responsibilities will include:
\n- Daily supervision of Technicians
\n- Team performance management (appraisals, disciplinary and grievance matters)
\n- Managing workflow through department with emphasis on customer focus and customer awareness
\n- Working with Technicians to establish deadlines and allocate jobs fairly
\n- Ensure effective implementation of quality systems (working with Quality Manager and Health and Safety Advisor)
\n- Create and implement staff training plans
\n- Development of continuous improvement initiatives with both systems of work and individuals
\n- Establish and monitor department’s KPIs
\n- Discussing results and new work with customers
\n- Routine drafting/sending reports and responding to customer emails
\n- Meeting customers and presenting seminars
\n- Contributing to writing of technical articles for internal and external publication
\n- Overseas travel when required
\n
About You
Essential
\n- Educated to A Level in Maths or Science
\n- Familiar with physical testing techniques
\n- Demonstrated organisation and planning skills
\n- Supervisory experience
\n- Customer facing experience
\n- Confident presenter
\n- Excellent time management and scheduling skills
\n- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
\n- Ability to work on own and as part of a team
\n- Highly motivated
\n- Problem solving and logical thinking
\n- Willingness to travel
\n
Desirable
\n- Completion of SAFT course or working towards completion
\n- Degree in Maths or Science
\n- Experience within a commercial environment
\n- Full, clean driving licence
\n- Experience of direct Sales and Marketing with exposure to business development tools and techniques
\n- Footwear industry experience
\n
