Role: Technical Leader



Location: Nottingham



Salary: �75k - �85K

They provide a range of energy solutions & services to improve the energy efficiency & environmental performance of building & industrial facilities across various projects & sectors.



The technical leader is a senior role within the business. It combines technical expertise with leadership & management skills. This position is crucial in driving technical strategy & ensuring project success.

Role responsibilities




  • Technical Excellence: Part of the wider technical community focused on driving technical excellence within the company.

  • Development Opportunities: The technical community provides support across various sectors and stages of project lifecycles, offering numerous development and role opportunities.

  • Internal Stakeholders: Manage relationships with bid teams, commercial teams, and operational teams.

  • External Stakeholders: Engage with clients, consultant partners, supply chain, and manufacturers.



Project Oversight




  • Design and Technical Management: Oversee and manage the delivery of design and technical management across multiple projects.

  • Pre-Construction Phase: Focus on the pre-construction phase, setting up projects technically and reducing risks.

  • Risk Identification and Mitigation

  • Design Risks: Identify, manage, and mitigate design and technical risks.

  • Specialist Introduction: Ensure relevant specialists are introduced to the project team at the right time.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Educational Qualifications: BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

  • Professional Registration: Incorporated or Chartered status (or working towards) with relevant institutions (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).

  • Sector Experience: Preferably in healthcare, commercial, leisure, or MOD/MOJ sectors.

  • Project Management: Able to manage projects with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) values between �5-50M.

  • Passion for Engineering: A passion for complex engineering and design.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.





This position requires a highly experienced technical professional with strong leadership, project management, and technical skills. The role involves overseeing the pre-construction phase, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations while coordinating with various stakeholders to achieve technical excellence.
