Location: London Sites (North & West) Rate: Negotiable The CompanyMy client is successful, dynamic and growing UK based Data Centre Developer who is searching for an additional Technical Manager to contribute to planned escalation in workload. This will be covering multiple sites across North & West London.
The Role Reporting directly into the Head of Technical Facilities, the Technical Systems Manager is responsible for the management Operational Technology (OT) and engineering asset configuration, The role will ensure the following objectives will be met: -Work with Business’s Controls Design SME to ensure that the TFM controls operational requirements are captured by Business’s design standard and clearly detailed.Review of the engineering assets control settings at the point of handover and maintenance throughout the life of the asset.Identifying and agreeing the versions of firmware to be deployed in Business’s assets, identifying when a critical fix is required and the deployment method.Evaluate OT Risk and escalate where required ensuring timely resolution whilst minimising customer impact.Support the design team with the review and sign off control strategies for Data Centre control systems and PLC systems.Review of SOOs for controls systems proposed by Design.Addition of bringing TFM team up to speed on new controlssystems.Managing the Cyber risk associated with Business’s OT systems working with Business’s Cyber Security team and its supply partners.An Electrical/Electronics / Controls engineer by profession, the candidate will be able to evidence the technical ability to manage Business’s facilities management & building management systems, hardware and software and the associated OT cyber security risks.Key tasks Utilising Business’s OT cyber security tool, manager and close out any identified risks utilising Business’s supply partners.Review Designs through stage 3 and 4 of RIBA design stage, providing operational feedback to the Design team.Develop Businesss standard firmware versions for the operational estate, liaise with key suppliers periodically to review new releases and determine if, how and when Business should deploy the new firmware.Review configuration of Engineering assets, ensuring assets have the correct functionality and that the firmware deployed in line with Business’s standards.Review new control system philosophy and provide feedback/sign off, manage existing control system changes ensuring lessons learnt are fed back into design and any master copies of the software.Understand Business’s deliverables under its ISO accreditation and any requirements of BS, BS EN, IEC standards applicable to Business’s Technical Operations. Ensure system set up and data gathered supports Business in keeping its ISO accreditations.Administration, support and overall management of Business’s OT system/s and associated policies and procedures.Input into Business’s Technical Standards (operational and design) as the operations controls Subject Matter Expert (SME).Ensure best practice and new ways of working are incorporated where appropriate.Perform in depth reviews of Technical Drawings and associated handover and in life documentation. Controls SLDs and wire sheets. The CandidateCurrently operating at an Intermediate Engineer level or above within a Controls/OT Role. mission critical environments or technical real estate which could include data centers, telecommunications or the banking and finance sector, etc.Experience of BMS, EMS or PLC systems, the candidate will have a good understanding of IT and Networks.Accreditation is desired in ITIL 4 foundation or above.A member of the IET, IMechE or Professionally recognised Engineer status desired but not essential.
