Technical Manager

TEXO Recruitment are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Manager to join the team of an external client located in Lerwick, Shetland Islands.

The role involves overseeing all technical aspects of our welding and fabrication projects, ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards, and managing a team of skilled professionals.

Area(s) of Responsibility:

• Lead and manage welding and fabrication projects from inception to completion.


• Ensure compliance with industry standards including EN – ISO – 3834, EN – ISO – 1090, PE(S)R, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.


• Conduct thorough inspections and quality control checks to ensure all work meets the required specifications and standards.


• Oversee the work of welding and fabrication staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.


• Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for welding and fabrication.


• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.


• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.


• Prepare and present technical reports and documentation as required.


• Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Extensive experience in welding and fabrication.


• In-depth knowledge of EN – ISO – 3834, EN – ISO – 1090, PE(S)R, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.


• CSWIP 3.1 essential


• Proven track record of successfully managing technical teams and projects.


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
