Established in the US over 35 years ago, we are working with a leading expert in diesel engines, facilitating the launch of their UK Division within the marine industry, continuing their reputation across the pond for providing exact right solutions for client applications as well as providing an integrated design process in order to deliver, high-performance, dependable diesel packages.

The Technical Sales Manager role:

We are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to join this exciting journey! Travelling across the UK and the Republic of Ireland to target key markets, you will work to establish Marine Diesel Engines in the commercial marine and power generation markets splitting your time between the open road and the offices in Kineton, Warwickshire (approx. 1 or 2 days per week).

Showcase your expertise in diesel engines—their parts, components, and maintenance requirements—to attract new business, strengthen existing relationships, and support marketing initiatives. Leverage this technical knowledge to refine outbound sales tactics, enhance marketing efforts, and effectively drive inbound leads to the business.

What are the Duties & Responsibilities of the Technical Sales Manager position?


  • Identify potential clients for Marine Dealerships throughout the territory; and engage, qualify, and retain them to build a sales and support network in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
  • Generate sales and bookings using an indirect sales strategy to pull-through sales with users.
  • Identify Commercial Boat Builders (OEMs) and execute a direct sales strategy for company products.
  • Utilise corporate Resources to develop and publish general and direct marketing presentations throughout the territory.
  • Attend and present at National and International Marine Industry trade shows within the region.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts.
  • Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Communicate to customers new products and services opportunities, special developments, and new information.
  • Follow up for collection of payment if necessary.
  • Act as support to engineering on the development of generation and powertrain packages to meet customer needs.

  • Have a flexible approach towards working hours and regular travel including overnight stays (expensed)
  • Demonstrate strong presentation and writing abilities, with the capability to create and deliver impactful presentations, proposals, and sales materials.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive client relationships and representing the company with a professional demeanour.
  • Have experience in sales and business development, particularly within the diesel engine industry, with a proven track record of identifying, engaging, and retaining clients.
  • Be skilled at resolving customer concerns, managing orders accurately, and adhering to quality assurance policies.
  • Possess the ability to collaborate with engineering teams to design customised solutions that meet client needs.
  • Be proactive in attending trade shows, building partnerships, and promoting products on national and international platforms.
