Join today and build progress with us.The OpportunityWe now have an excellent opportunity for either an existing Technical Superintendent or a Chief Engineer looking to upskill and develop in a shore side management role. Where youll join our team of shore side marine management based at our Kendall site in Portsmouth.Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, youll be responsible for all technical matters on board our dredger vessel. Ensuring that the company policies and procedures including requirements of Flag State, Class and other applicable regulations are effectively implemented and maintained.The role will require the movement of equipment, up to the weight of 20kgs and youll spend time working both in and outside in all weather conditions. With the support of the wider senior marine management team and the of Chief Engineer youll effectively maintain and improve the Planned Maintenance System and Defect Management System including Technical Spare and Inventory Management. As well as help to keep vessel downtime to a minimum and cost aligned with budgets by preparing repair and maintenance specifications.Youll manage the full project of planning, executing and completing refit/drydock in a timely manner.Who you areYoull be a certified engineer with a marine background as either a Chief Engineer looking to continue or develop your shore-based career or an existing Technical Superintendent.Youll have a technical background, and be able to provide guidance and instructions to technical issues.Youll already have an extensive knowledge of the technical management of vessel including dry docking experience, the ISM Code and other marine legislations.Youll need to be adaptable, as well made plans could need to be adjusted with short notice due to unforeseen requirements.Youll be a confident leader, who looks to continuously drive improvement of their team. You will provide effective leadership to the crew, particularly to Engineer Officers, motivating them to continually improve their performance and safety culture on board the vessel.Youll also deputise for the DPA when they are unavailable.Benefits??
