Technical Trainer | Electrical / Hardware Engineering | Industrial Consultancy | Above Market Rate Salary (Enquire for details) | Stone, Staffordshire | Flexible working options

Yolk Recruitment are working with an expanding Industrial consultancy looking for a Technical Trainer to join their learning & development function at their Stone site.
If successful you will work closely with the engineering leads & L & D Manager to train a cohort of 60 apprentices starting in September 2024 as well as upskilling their current engineering workforce. To be successful you will need a strong background in Electrical / Hardware Engineering (E,C&I, Control Panel Design, PLC programming & Electrical Systems Design) as well as demonstrable experience teaching & training.
This role could suit a lecturer with a background in engineering looking to get back into an industry environment or an experienced engineer with good exposure to mentoring / coaching looking to move into an L&D role.

The role is based in Stone Staffordshire & they operate flexible working with core hours of 10-3.

This is what you will be doing:

  • Lead the Apprenticeship scheme and support apprentices on all aspects throughout their education journey.
  • Work with the education providers to ensure content is relevant and appropriate and discuss how gaps can be closed.
  • Understand the planned curriculum for the learners and provide support where needed.
  • Work with the Engineering Managers to identify suitable project work to enhance learning and ensure KSBs can be achieved.

The experience you will bring to the team:

  • In depth understanding of Electrical / Hardware Engineering either from an academic or industry environment including, E,C&I, Control Panel Design, PLC, SCADA etc.
  • Experience coaching / mentoring / training apprentice level / junior engineers.
  • Ability to work will with internal / external stakeholders including Engineering Leads / Managers, external training providers etc.
  • Relevant Electrical Engineering qualifications.
