Main objective of role
Deliver effective transfer of technical knowledge and skills to learners in the areas of Software Development, Software Testing and DevOps.
Ensure learners acquire a deep understanding of technical concepts and practical skills.
Provide high-quality, online technical training to support learners' career advancement in information technology.
Deliver successful training courses that empower learners to apply their technical knowledge confidently in real-world scenarios.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver exceptional technical training courses across a wide range of IT topics.
Facilitate engaging learning experiences through interactive sessions, multimedia resources, and hands-on exercises.
Keep abreast of industry trends to ensure training content remains relevant and up-to-date.
Continuously improve training methods and course effectiveness based on participant feedback.
Prepare learners for qualifications and external examinations.
Tailor training content to meet the diverse needs of learners, providing personalised support and guidance.
Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records to support reporting and compliance.
Complete required administrative tasks efficiently and in accordance with regulations.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in Netcom meetings.
Undergo regular observations and CPD activities to maintain professional development.
Prioritise health, safety, and safeguarding in all activities.
Promote equal opportunities and ensure fair treatment of all learners.
Assess learner work as required for accredited qualifications.
Key Performance Indicators
Learner Satisfaction: Maintain a satisfaction rate of over 85% as measured by learner surveys.
Learner Success Rates: Achieve a success rate of over 85%, ensuring timely completion of learner goals.
Learner Paperwork: Ensure all required learner paperwork is completed and submitted within specified deadlines.
Teaching and Learning Observations: Consistently receive "good" or "outstanding" ratings in teaching and learning observations.
Essential Criteria
Formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PTLLS, CTLLS) or actively working towards one.
Formal assessing qualification or willingness to obtain one.
Current experience working in an education and skills establishment.
Proven experience as a technical trainer or instructor, demonstrating the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse learners.
Experience in designing and delivering innovative and engaging technical training programs that meet the needs of learners at all levels.
Experience in collaborating with others to create and update high-quality training materials, ensuring they are current, relevant, and aligned with industry standard.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and demonstrable presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Adaptability to tailor training content to different skill levels, learning styles, and diverse audiences.
Mentorship and support for learners, guiding them through challenges and providing career guidance.
Critical problem-solving abilities to address complex technical issues.
Things to Consider
Remote working (with occasional travel to Netcom's office in Birmingham)
Salary: £35,000-£40,000
25 days holiday plus birthday off
37.5 hours per week
Evening work required (classroom sessions often held from 6pm-9pm)
Private medical insurance after successful probation period
