PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking a skilled Technical Underwriter to join a leading insurance firm. This role involves assessing complex risks, developing underwriting strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to make data-driven underwriting decisions that support business growth.
DAY-TO-DAY
Review and underwrite complex risks following company guidelines
Analyse data and market trends to create competitive underwriting solutions
Work closely with brokers, clients, and internal teams to manage risk placement
Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices
Help develop underwriting guidelines and contribute to product improvements
Provide technical support to junior underwriters and colleagues
SKILLS
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Clear communication and negotiation skills
Ability to interpret data and market trends
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Experience with underwriting software and digital tools
EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of underwriting principles, regulations, and market trends
Experience working with brokers and clients to tailor underwriting solutions
Familiarity with digital underwriting tools and data-driven decision-making
