TECHNICIAN - INJECTION MOULDING

Salary: £43,287 including shift allowance

3 shift rotation, 2 weeks day shift 2 weeks evening and 2weeks nights 8 hours per day with a 30-minute paid lunch

Our client is a plastic manufacturing company who specialise in tooling, precision plastic injection moulding and product development engineering. They are currently looking for a Technician to join their expanding team.
To carry out, monitor and improve the overall efficiency of mould changes, you will also troubleshoot and technical issues that may arise to maximse OEE by improving uptime, quality and cycle efficiencies. You will be reporting to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:
\n
\n- Support Supervisors in the daily operation of moulding machines, ensuring alignment with the Mould Shop capacity plan.
\n- Collaborate with Shift Technicians and Trainee Technicians to effectively meet production targets.
\n- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, documenting and reporting any unresolved problems.
\n- Update Systems to accurately reflect machine status, including running, tool changes, and sampling.
\n- Ensure adherence to proper tool change procedures and promote SMED principles for efficient changeovers.
\n- Monitor tool changes per shift, analyse durations, and identify opportunities for improvement.
\n- Focus on reducing worst-case cycle times and implement improvements to bring all machines within quoted cycle times.
\n- Work with the Quality department to address daily quality issues and implement corrective actions.
\n- Identify training needs within the technical team and coordinate with the Senior Process Manager and Production Manager to facilitate skill development.
\n- Optimise machine performance through proper setting and conditioning.
\n- Perform colour changes and tool changes as required.
\n- Participate in problem-solving initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
\n- Maintain accurate records of process controls, improvements, and best practices, ensuring knowledge sharing among team members.
\n- Communicate effectively with the Senior Process Manager and Production Manager regarding operational issues and support requirements.
\n- Promote 5S principles and maintain a clean, organised work environment.

\n- Properly use and maintain all provided personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety.
\n- Keep the work area clean, organised, and free from obstructions at all times.
