The Technology Advisory team, part of the T&D Technology Planning & Management (TP&M) function, is central to our business engagement. We set the strategic direction for T&D, ensuring our investments deliver maximum impact and align with our goals. We ensure T&D has the right people, capabilities, and budget to achieve our commitments effectively and efficiently. About the Role: We are currently seeking a Technology Advisory Manager to manage relationships with target business units and ensure their needs are fully integrated into the T&D departmental plans. Reporting to the Lead Technology Advisory Manager, you will collaborate with business managers, subject matter experts, sponsors, and change teams to shape the technology investment pipeline. You will articulate needs objectively and translate these into delivery plans that bring demonstrable value, promoting T&D s products and services and advocating for innovative technologies to enhance user experiences. This role is dedicated to supporting our non-modal subsidiary partners, such as Places for London, the London Transport Museum, and the Greater London Authority (GLA) group. Initially, your primary focus will be working on the GLA portfolio to support them in delivering their strategic IT roadmap. What You ll Be Accountable For: Managing key relationships with TfL and external stakeholders, providing a focal point for technology solutions. Partnering with business stakeholders at all levels to influence and support business outcomes through technology. Leading analysis and defining solutions for tactical and strategic technology challenges, identifying efficiencies and dependencies across products. Coordinating proofs of concept, feasibility assessments, and translating solutions into prioritised work packages. Supporting business stakeholders in raising their technology knowledge to articulate needs that advance business performance. Identifying investment needs to plan and prioritise enabling technology solutions. Monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation. Results-oriented individuals keen to drive sustainable business performance through technology. What you ll need: Degree-level education (or equivalent) or relevant demonstrable work experience. Strong knowledge of business engagement models and business analysis techniques. Understanding of legislation related to information management in the Government/Public/Transport sector (e.g., Data Protection Act). Familiarity with TfL policies, management structures, strategic priorities, and governance processes. Recognised project or program delivery methods (e.g., MSP, Agile, SCRUM, or PRINCE2). Proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate effectively. Capability to encourage stakeholders to adopt new ways of working. Experience in translating technical customer needs into solutions and supporting continuous business improvement.
