Temporary Accommodation Officer
Are you passionate about supporting homeless individuals and families? Do you have experience managing temporary accommodation and ensuring compliance with housing legislation? We are looking for a highly skilled Temporary Accommodation Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of temporary accommodation properties and ensuring tenants receive the support they need.
 
The Role
·Oversee the smooth operation of temporary accommodation, including lettings, tenancy management, and rent collection.
·Minimise revenue loss and ensure sustainable occupation of all properties.
·Manage void properties, ensuring quick re-letting and reducing reliance on Bed & Breakfast accommodations.
·Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including gas and electricity standards.
·Work closely with landlords, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain property standards and facilitate repairs.
·Handle tenancy breaches, such as anti-social behaviour, harassment, or domestic abuse, in partnership with other teams and agencies.
·Support vulnerable tenants by liaising with social services and other care providers, ensuring safeguarding for adults and children.
·Monitor performance of temporary accommodation providers and enforce contracts to maintain the quality of the service.
·Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on rent arrears, voids, and tenancy conditions.
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Extensive experience managing temporary accommodation, handling tenancy issues, and working with vulnerable tenants in diverse, urban communities.
·Strong communication, negotiation, and administrative skills, along with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
·In-depth understanding of housing law, tenancy law, and temporary accommodation management, including income maximization and fraud prevention.
·A degree or equivalent experience, evidence of continuous professional development, and a full, clean UK driving license with access to a car for business purposes.
