Join a Local Authority in Slough as a Temporary Accommodation Recovery Officer, ensuring effective management of temporary accommodation placements and supporting households in maintaining their tenancy.
THE ROLE
As a Temporary Accommodation Recovery Officer, you will play a key role in managing temporary accommodation placements and ensuring compliance with housing benefit processes.

  • Conduct sign-ups for existing temporary accommodation placements, ensuring completion of housing benefit forms and license agreements
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records on NEC and Jigsaw, ensuring placements are correctly recorded under the relevant duty
  • \n
  • Carry out suitability assessments on current temporary accommodation placements
  • \n
  • Manage the discharge of s.188/s.193 duties where applicable
  • \n
  • Work closely with housing demand, welfare and benefits teams, and temporary accommodation income services
  • \n
  • Ensure safeguarding principles are adhered to in all aspects of temporary accommodation management
  • \n
  • Attend the office in Slough at least two days a week to support service delivery
  • \n
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in temporary accommodation placement and/or management within a local authority or similar housing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of temporary accommodation processes and legislation
  • \n
  • Experience working with NEC and Jigsaw systems for case management
  • \n
  • Understanding of welfare benefits, including housing benefit applications
  • \n
  • Ability to assess accommodation suitability and manage discharges of duty
  • \n
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and their practical application in housing services
  • \n
THE CONTRACT
    \n
  • Temporary – 3 months
  • \n
  • \nFull-time role with hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in Slough)
  • \n
  • The pay range for the role is £27.00 to £30.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is  £23.02 to £25.58 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
