Tenancy Support Worker | Hull | Full Time | £23,400 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Our client, a housing charity at the heart of West Hull is seeking a Tenancy Support Worker to be a vital part of their mission to empower vulnerable tenants to thrive.

As a Tenancy Support Worker, you will provide tailored, one-on-one coaching to tenants, helping them gain independence and stability in their lives. You'll play a key role in developing personalised support plans, identifying tenants' strengths and goals, and working with them to achieve positive outcomes. Through your ongoing guidance, you'll support tenants in building life skills, improving their well-being, and preparing for independent living.

They work tirelessly to help those in need of housing, especially individuals affected by poverty, homelessness, or prejudice. The charity provides affordable housing and supports vulnerable individuals in their communities.

You'll work alongside a small, dedicated team, advocating for tenants, helping them navigate housing-related challenges, and linking them to valuable services. Whether providing emotional support, promoting healthy habits, or connecting tenants to mental health services, your work will be dynamic, fulfilling, and impactful.

Essential Skills & Experience:


  • Experience working with disadvantaged individuals
  • Understanding of challenges faced by low-income individuals
  • Knowledge of support services for vulnerable people
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to manage workloads effectively
  • Commitment to the company’s values and equal opportunities

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of housing-related support and tenant/landlord issues
  • Degree in a related field (e.g., social work, community/youth work)
  • Coaching, mentoring, or counselling qualification

What will your role look like?


  • Deliver personalised, strength-based coaching to help tenants achieve independence
  • Develop and maintain individual support and risk assessment plans
  • Advocate for tenants, ensuring they receive appropriate services
  • Encourage tenants to participate in activities and services, including our Volunteer Programme
  • Prepare tenants for the transition to independent living
  • Provide emotional support and positively challenge negative lifestyle choices
  • Collaborate with statutory and voluntary agencies to coordinate support
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on tenant progress
  • Report any safeguarding issues in line with organisational policies
