We are currently recruiting for an experienced tool setter to join our plastic injection moulding client based in Leeds (LS27)

Salary:
�34k - �37k based on experience.
Plus an additional annual bonus of 5% of annual salary.

Shift pattern:
Panama shift (DAYS & NIGHTS)

Main duties of the role:

  • Plastic injection moulding tool setting/tool changes to conform with the sites safe working practices and procedures.
  • Assist the shift with operating the injection moulding machines, ancillaries and automated assembly machines.
  • Ensure machinery is safe, checked in accordance with maintenance logs and repaired either permanently or temporarily in conjunction with the Maintenance Department.
  • Refer to standards setting and modify processes, where necessary, to achieve maximum production rates and quality standards.
  • Record all changes made to proceed.
  • Follow the escalating procedure to Toolroom, Maintenance and Technical department. Fill appropriate documents.
  • Liaise with the Setter Supervisor, Team Leader, Planning, Quality Department, Toolroom, Maintenance, other team members and other shifts about tool changes, settings, operating procedures, and general running requirements.
  • Perform tool changes/setting and the application of ancillaries in line with production requirements.
  • Attend meetings and communicate effectively with all departments.
  • Perform safe interim repairs in the absence of Maintenance and the Toolroom.
  • Perform any other reasonable task required by the Setter Supervisor, Team Leader, senior managers, or directors.

Highlights:

  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in setting up and operating injection moulding machines, such as Ferromatik, Krauss Maffei or Engel.
  • Expertise in conducting tool changes, machine setups, and optimizing processes for efficiency.
  • Strong skills in identifying and resolving moulding defects, as well as reducing machine downtime.
  • Familiarity with quality control protocols and competency in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers and gauges).
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with hydraulic core systems and robotic equipment.
