The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for an experienced Tooling Design Engineer for a leading group of companies based in Coventry.



The primary objective of the role is to design, develop and implement tooling for production and assembly including patterns, moulds, jigs, and assembly fixtures.

Salary - £50,000 - £55,000 DOE

Responsibilities




  • Company Policies: Follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company

  • Working with AME alongside Advanced Engineering and Production to identify the needs of tooling, jigs and fixtures

  • Take tooling design projects from R&D through to manufacture and therefore be responsible for every detail of the tool design & development

  • Designing and implementing jigs, fixtures and assembly aids, including the selection of materials for a production environment

  • Work with the Machine Shop Manager to create and implement custom tooling designs

  • Define and develop tooling standards and specifications

  • Be the owner of 3d CAD and 2d drawings for the DRVN Remastered Division

  • Create and maintain a tooling register

  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Composites team to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process

  • Support Project Manager to ensure project deliverables are achieved

  • Work with Purchasing to assist the management of suppliers with on time and on budget delivery of tooling components when required

  • Develop innovative solutions for component fabrication and assembly.



Essential Skills




  • Engineering degree -equivalent within a relevant subject

  • Strong Understanding of CAD Literacy and Ability to use Catia V5

  • 2D Drawing knowledge including GD&T

  • Strong level of Tooling Engineering Design knowledge

  • Ability and awareness of design to Manufacturing Process

  • Experience of NPI processes

  • Knowledge of Composites production

  • Understanding of 3 and 5 axis machining capabilities

  • Understanding importance of managing engineering change requests and claim management

  • Understanding of budget management and importance of Time, Quality and Cost on projects

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excels in organisational skills and time management

  • Use of Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Willingness to support others

  • Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.

  • Must have IDLR/ Full right to work in UK- Sponsorship will not be provided.
