Hours: Mon-Thurs, 07:30 to 16:30 Fri, 07:00 to 16:00 and every other Sat 08:00 to 12:00

As a trade Counter Supervisor you will be the go-to person in the branch, helping the Building and Roofing trade customers get exactly what they need for the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Line management and leadership of the branch staff, including the yard operatives, counter personnel and HGV driver.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers to improve quality of service, growth the business, and increase customer satisfaction. This includes direct sales activities such as telephoning new customers to drive sales.
• Operate the trade counter and receive orders in person, via telephone and email.
• Maintain accuracy of the stock system via regular stock-taking activities.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders with suppliers to maintain sufficient inventory.
• Working with the Directors to enhance supplier relationships.
• Manage health and safety and systems according to company policy and relevant law.
• Manage costs, overheads, and all factors affecting the profitability of the branch.
• To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.

Required Skills and Experience

• Passionate with people, including customers and the branch team
• Product knowledge is a distinct advantage
• A positive, can-do attitude with the drive and motivation for continuous improvement
• Must have driving licence and preferably a valid counterbalance FLT certificate
