Trade Mark Attorney to join an international, Top 20 UK Firm on a 12 month Fixed Term Basis.

Our client has a particular niche in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors, with their Intellectual Property (IP) department consistently ranked top in the legal directories.

The team assists on matters related to IP rights, trademarks, patents, copyright and database rights, confidential information, data privacy, IP protection, enforcement, strategic management, valuation and monetisation of IP portfolios.

Our client is viewed as experts in the IP sector and as result, represent a range of major enterprises and high-growth businesses on headline-grabbing cases.

The Opportunity

The firm's IP department are looking for an enthusiastic solicitor who is a Chartered Trademark Attorney.

As a Trade Mark Attorney in the firm's largest department, your position will involve:

  • Providing advice on a wide range of brand related issues, both non-contentious and contentious
  • Assistance in the management of worldwide trade mark and design portfolios
  • Conducting and providing advice on trade mark and design clearance searches
  • Drafting trade mark specifications, implementing, and managing worldwide trade mark and design filing programmes, advising on filing strategies
  • Providing advice, dealing with prosecution issues, drafting arguments, and preparing evidence in response to Trade Mark Office objections, third party oppositions, invalidity, and appeal actions
  • Providing advice, drafting settlement agreements, managing trade mark disputes - trade mark oppositions, cancellation actions, enforcement cases, domain name disputes

This role would suit an ambitious Trade Mark Attorney who is currently working in a comparable environment and has proven experience of handling both contentious and non-contentious brand related issues.

Requirements

  • Qualified Mid Level Trade Mark Attorney Solicitor with between 3 - 6 years PQE
  • Trained at a Top City Law Firm
  • Excellent academics
