For our subsidiary COSCO SHIPPING Lines (UK) Ltd., located in Barking, England we are looking for an experienced Trade Specialist (m/f/d) BCO, IET. Key Responsibilities: Establishing Contact: Engage face-to-face with direct and indirect UK exporters and importers, including manufacturers, commodity trading houses, automotive, avionics, pharmaceutical, and chemical exporters, as well as Global NVOCC s and Forwarders. Manage the development of new business in line with KPIs set by HQ. Business Development: Focus on developing UK Export/Import BCO and tender business for Cosco, supporting the inbound/outbound team as needed. Experience in Mediterranean trades is advantageous. Account Management: Service existing accounts, secure bookings and new orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to meet with or call on potential sales outlets and other trade factors as needed. Market Monitoring: Gather current marketplace information on pricing, products, and new products from customer feedback to monitor competition. Administration Coordination: Coordinate relevant administration tasks with the indoor sales team and assist with HQ rate negotiations and service contract confirmations across all trade lanes. Communication: Maintain daily communication with Hamburg and Shanghai HQs to define rate policy for VIP/VVIP clients. RFQ Compilation: Assist with the compilation of RFQ documents and negotiate terms and conditions in line with HQ guidelines. Reporting: Draft reports for the management team, compiling market commercial feedback provided by customers. Customer Support Monitoring: Monitor customer support and report non-conformance to the Deputy General Manager, M&S. Forecast Management: Manage customer forecasts with Hamburg and Shanghai HQs to ensure vessel space and commitment. Problem Resolution: Help resolve customer complaints by investigating issues, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management. Quote Follow-Up: Follow up on quotes weekly, recording comments, and sharing them with the sales team. Support: Offer support on other trades and case-by-case projects and tenders upon management request. KPI Achievement: Ensure that individual and M&S department KPIs are met or exceeded. Travel: Be available to travel at short notice to attend meetings in the UK or globally. Additional Tasks: Assist and support the M&S DGM and carry out other tasks as requested by management. Requirements: Professional working experience within a shipping line, focusing on Mediterranean lanes. Strong negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint at an intermediate level or above. Comprehensive scheduling skills. Proactive commercial sales and pricing knowledge. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a flexible approach to workload. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks proactively.
