Exciting Opportunity for a Traffic Management Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Management Operative to join a dynamic and growing team within the Environment and Transport Department. This position will involve the delivery and collection of temporary traffic management signage and supporting highway maintenance, construction, and street lighting activities across Leicestershire and occasionally surrounding counties.

The main duties of the Traffic Management Operative are:

·Erect and remove appropriate temporary traffic management signs to support the highway delivery workforce.
·Assist in the scheduling and coordination of resources for signage delivery and collection.
·Ensure safe installation and maintenance of traffic control systems, including road closures and diversions.
·Carry out routine checks and maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
·Work closely with the Sign Shop and Traffic Management Technicians, providing cover when needed.
·Participate in a standby rota to provide out-of-hours support during emergencies.
·Ensure that temporary traffic management systems comply with Chapter 8 and the Code of Practice for Safety at Streetworks.
