Trainee Estimator (Graduate)

John Reilly civil engineering are currently recruiting for a trainee estimator to join our commercial team at our office in Swanwick.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate or for someone with transitional experience to learn about Civil Engineering and to get hands on experience in Construction estimating.

Trainee Estimator - Typical duties include:

• Taking off quantities using Visual Precision OnSight software and Earthworks software.


• Preparing bills of quantities in Excel


• Sending our enquiries


• Obtaining quotations from suppliers


• Use of e mails


• Printing of drawings


• Reading drawings and specifications

Working hours are 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday with a 16:30 finish on a Friday and will be office based.

Trainee Estimator - Skills

• Required skills:


• Telephone skills


• Proficient IT skills


• Working in a team to meet tender deadlines


• Good communication skills


• Full training will be given

Holiday will be standard 20 days increasing to 25 days after 5 years of service. We also offer an employee bonus scheme after 12 months of service.
