Trainee Management Accountant

We are seeking a Trainee Management Accountantto join our team who will be based in our new Ballymena Head Office. THE COMPANY Dowds Group are a national mechanical, electrical and specialist construction with offices in Ballymoney, Belfast and London. Delivering quality installations to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK and Ireland, with continued growth, we are keen to develop new talent to support in the expansion of our operations. THE ROLE Assist with the production of monthly management accounts. Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals, and prepayments. Review budget variances and prepare cost investigations. Maintain Fixed Asset Register, depreciation schedules and IFRS 16 lease calculations. Assist with production of the budgets and forecasts as required. Assist with intercompany reconciliations. Support with collation of Audit data requirements. Preparation of sales invoices and processing of purchase invoices. Supplier statement reconciliations. Reviewing subcontractor applications. Reconciling multiple bank accounts and credit cards. Regular chasing and reporting of outstanding sundry debtors. Ad Hoc reporting and generation of information to support other departments. Providing day-to-day administrative support as required. PERSON SPECIFICATION 2:1 degree in any discipline (Accountancy / Finance / Business management, is preferred). Intermediate experience of MS applications e.g. Excel and Word. Natural ability and enjoys working with data and numbers. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required. Keen to gain experience in busy Group company with multiple departments. Likes to take ownership for tasks and prioritise your own workload. Excellent multi-tasking ability and organisational skills. Ability to produce work of a consistently high quality. DESIRABLE Advanced experience of MS applications e.g. Excel and Word Membership of accredited accountancy body (eg. ACCA, CIMA) and working towards your accountancy qualifications. Direct work experience in a finance department. Previous experience in Sage or similar software accounting solution. Training will be provided along with financial and leave support towards your professional exams.
