Transfer Station Operative

Connect Appointments are seeking a Transfer Station Operative to join and strengthen our client's existing team in Birstall.

What's on offer?

• Full-time (42.5 hour per week) ongoing temporary contract
• Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm
• £13.12 per hour - paid weekly
• Location: Pennine View Industrial Estate, Off Gelderd Road, Birstall

What will you be doing?

• Undertake all tasks in accordance with the client's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies
• Operate the necessary plant equipment involved in the handling, sorting and transferring of waste
• Inspect incoming loads to ensure they comply with the relevant paperwork and site permit
• Ensuring the yard area is kept clean and tidy
• Marshalling vehicle movement around the site at busy times
• Assisting the site supervisor in day to day running of site operations

What we're looking for?

• One or more licences to include: Loading Shovel and/or 360 Grab (full training can be given but at least one of these licences is preferred)
• Waste and shredder experience is desirable
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work on your own and as part of a team
