Job Description:

As a Transport Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our clients logistics team, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of their steel products. You will work closely with the transport manager, coordinating deliveries, managing schedules, and maintaining meticulous records.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Coordinate and schedule the transportation of steel products to various destinations.

  • Monitor and track deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate delivery by liaising with drivers, internal staff and their customers.

  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and transport companies to optimise logistics operations.

  • Maintain detailed records of shipments, including schedules, costs, and compliance documentation.

  • Assist in the preparation of transport plans and strategies to improve efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.

  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to transportation in a timely manner.



Requirements:




  • Experience in the steel processing industry or wider engineering industry, particularly in logistics and transportation.

  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations and best practices.

  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.

  • Proficient in using logistics and transportation management software.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
