My client are looking to recruit a Transport Manager / General Manager for the busy Leicester depot. If you have previous experience in general transport, pallet networks, and 3PL warehousing and have the passion and ability to lead and deliver an effective service-focused operation,then get in touch now 

Essential Skills:

• Experience managing transport contracts and general haulage, including pallet network operations

• Experience managing warehouse operations with a diverse customer base

• CPC qualified

• An effective understanding of budgets and P&L

 JOB PURPOSE • To ensure the VOSA Operators Licence requirements are met in full and at all times • To meet and maintain FORS accreditation requirements • To motivate and manage the General traffic teams effectively, mentoring and continually developing the team. • To ensure all transport systems are updated and maintained • To provide innovative operational solutions to satisfy and facilitate continual growth • To plan and prioritise customer requirements to ensure expectations are met. • To ensure all KPIs are correct, maintained and produced as required • To uphold the Company values and vision and promote them in the business at all times.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES • Process driver weekly timesheets for payment and manage driving staff holidays and absences • Support the teams as required, identifying any training requirements and process improvements. • Manage and maintain VOSA and FORS requirements. • Manage and accurately report service and profitability KPI’s. • To be continually looking for areas to improve profitability – reducing costs or finding new ways to generate revenue • Ensure full legal compliance within the driving force and address any issues or failings accordingly • To lead the team in terms of best practice regarding health & safety and ensure the team and any visitors understand the importance of being safe in the workplace at all times. • Quickly and efficiently investigate, record and report any incidents that may arise • Addressing issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, absences and following Company procedure in relation to these issues. • Manage all direct reports, monitor holidays, overtime and other staff issues. • Hold regular operational meetings with the team • To lead, coach and develop your direct report
