This role is pivotal to ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective deliveries to depots and customers. /p p br /p p As the Transport Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the company's transport operations, from fleet management and compliance to depot efficiency and route optimisation. You will play a crucial role in achieving delivery targets, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, all while leading and developing a high-performing transport team. /p p br /p p Key Responsibilities: /p p 1. Transport Operations Management: /p p - Manage the daily operations of the company’s vehicle fleet, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and efficient vehicle use. /p p - Develop strategies to optimise fleet, driver, and third-party logistics partner performance and meet delivery and budget targets. /p p - Oversee trunking between depots and final mile deliveries, ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance /p p - Lead the transport planning team to ensure cost-effective route planning and delivery scheduling. /p p br /p p 2. Depot Management: /p p - Ensure efficient management of depots, including lease/purchase arrangements and maintaining operational standards. /p p - Periodically review depot locations and operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency. /p p br /p p 3. Team Leadership and Development: /p p - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers, planners, and administrative staff, fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture. /p p - Set clear performance expectations, hold regular reviews, and ensure KPIs are consistently met. /p p - Promote effective employee relations, managing recruitment, absences, and performance issues. /p p br /p p 4. Financial Management: /p p - Oversee the transport department’s budget, managing vehicle, fuel, and depot costs. /p p - Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving initiatives, and take corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency. /p p br /p p 5. Compliance and Safety: /p p - Ensure full compliance with transport-related health and safety policies and regulatory requirements for vehicles and drivers. /p p - Investigate incidents, manage disciplinary processes, and ensure staff adhere to health and safety standards. /p p br /p p 6.
