About the Company:

We are a well-established same-day and next-day transport business with a dedicated company fleet of 30 vehicles. We pride ourselves on providing efficient and reliable delivery services and are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Role Overview:

As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing our fleet operations and managing a team of four direct reports, including Customer Service, Administration, and a Planner. This role requires an experienced individual with a background in transport management, particularly within a small to mid-sized company, who can ensure effective scheduling, vehicle compliance, and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee a fleet of 30 vehicles, ensuring regular maintenance, compliance with transport regulations, and vehicle availability for same-day and next-day deliveries.
• Supervise a team of four, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance across Customer Service, Administration, and Planning functions.
• Coordinate daily schedules and route planning for maximum efficiency, ensuring timely deliveries and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain compliance with transport regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure prompt responses to customer inquiries and efficient problem resolution.
• Monitor KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for management, including cost control, efficiency metrics, and delivery success rates.

Position Requirements

• Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role within a logistics or transport environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
• Proficient in route planning and scheduling to optimize delivery timelines and fuel efficiency.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
