The Opportunity
Transport officers will work as part of a flexible, customer focused team fulfilling activity within the Community and Education Travel team in the Integrated Passenger Transport Unit (ITPU). This role will support delivery of the Councils portfolio of transport services to ensure that a high-quality transport service is provided to the people of Essex.
Transport Officers in the ITPU will undertake research and analysis using specialist IT solutions to apply their knowledge of services and the transport network to contribute and lead projects throughout Essex. In addition, work collaboratively with suppliers, partner organisations and stakeholders to highlight local solutions to secure accessibility to key services.
Working with service managers and colleagues across ITPU, transport officers will provide insight to the strategic vision of integrated transport by challenging the traditional segregation of activities and will have the ability to identify opportunities to integrate transport to maximise transport solutions in Essex.
